This is a piece I did a while ago with a palette knife. The buildings are supposed to be really loose and textural, but I think the perspective is off on the shorter ones, so I might change that. The focus principle is rhythm through the brush strokes. Also variety through color and texture.

I LOVE how the water turned out! Well, all of it really! The texture is great and really brings energy to the city skyline.
ReplyDeleteDUDE i remember when you did this one :) I think I'll pull that one up too just for kicks :P love the abstract lighting effect and how you imply the city with color variation rather than line.
ReplyDeleteThis is very cool. It reminds me of a parody of "Starry Night", but with city lights and buildings. There is definitly a deep meaning to this piece and i love that. Also, I think this was a wise choice because you showed that you know how to handle water. Creating water is really difficult, great job.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I like the refections on the water from the buildings. I also like the colors.
ReplyDeleteThis is so awesome! I love it! The texture makes it really interesting and the way that you handled the water looks great. I like the glow around the city too. Great Job!
ReplyDeleteLaura- Good job on this assignment. I would push and pull the color value and color intensity in the composition to further allude to space.
